Hometown thrift
About-
Hometown thrift is located at 475 State St, Hammond, IN. This thrift store is closed on Sunday and Monday but opens from Tuesday through Saturday ranging hours from 10-4 pm or 10-6 pm.

$2 shoes
$1 kids’ clothes
Every Wednesday 10 articles of clothing for $10
Purpose-
I find their purpose the most significant and goal-oriented. The money made serves residents in recovery from drug and addiction abuse.
It is so important to serve our community to continue to push for growth. The purpose of Hometown Thrift creates togetherness and supporting locally can allow for so much change.
My experience-
I've gone to this thrift store a handful of times. Needless to say, it is more on the vintage side and offers a medium size clothing collection. It is more of a furniture store and the prices are cheap! The thrift store being locally run is my favorite part because it creates comfort in the store. The store clerks were not only very welcoming but very helpful to me and my sister from when we arrived until we left.
Hometown thrift is very active on Facebook. There, you can find postings about new furniture in the store.
Paws resale shop
About-
Paws resale shop is located on 8149 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, IN 46322. Closed Sundays but open every day from 10-5 pm or 6 pm depending on the day of the week. The resale shop includes many items, new and used, that also contribute to helping animals in need. In The shop, you can also find cats for adoption! They also provide a local gift center where customers can support small businesses. The items are handmade and new items are available regularly.

Purpose-
Its mission statement is “To lead the community in the humane treatment of all animals.” There are multiple ways to donate to Humane Indiana. Online, in-store, and through shopping with them.
My experience-
I have gone to this resale shop too many times to count. The inviting atmosphere is comforting and the workers there are so helpful and kind. I have never gone there and left empty-handed. I love their mission and I love how they have animals to adopt while you shop. It is a very vintage feel and they offer very vintage styles from China dishes, records, books, jewelry, to toys. Every season they decorate and set out many items for sale in that season. I enjoy taking my time looking through every nook and cranny to find hidden gems, which they do have a lot there! The selection is targeted at young and old and anyone who is, of course, an animal lover!
Village Discount store
About-
Located 2706 165th St, Hammond, IN 46323, hours vary depending on the day of the week but their website shows it is open mostly from 9 am to 9 pm every day. They have daily color deals where for example Monday would be pink, yellow, and blue half off tags. They also offer what they call an early bird special, this is when you come in a day before the whole store is marked half off. It is often that Half Price Weekends are Only the Weekend of an upcoming Holiday. Either way, they offer deals every day through the different colored tags they have on each item.

They have brand-name shoes and clothes, house décor, books, jewelry, and even designer dupes or real designer handbags!
My experience-
It has become a tradition to visit this thrift with my dad. He and I go very often and have been since I was as young as 14! This is my go-to thrift store and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a thrift store with variety and in need of clothes! I have also donated here quite a lot and have created a bond with some of the store cashiers. I have created a few TikToks with this thrift and never leave empty-handed!
